But what about ...

Since becoming a mother and my children learned to speak I bet I have heard but what about "HER" a kazillion times. It grates on my nerves. However, since coming to Christ, I have found the old responses are just not there. The ones that sounded like "SHUT UP and dont worry what the heck SHE is doing, just do what I told you".
For discipline, I do need a valid response. This scapegoat mentality being the cry of my kiddos heart is not what I want for them. I mean really world view is BUT SOnSO got away with ... lets find a way out... or how about the "its just not FAIR" is our weak battle cry. We instill weakness in our inner fiber by comparing our lives with anyone, in any circumstance. Like that neighbor who seems to have money dripping all around him, why does he have abundant pockets, and I'm broke? Why does Mikey make A's in class but I work harder than him? Why do have to walk the dog, she hasnt done it all week? What about sonso, they screw up constantly but dont get punished? Sound like anyone you know?
I have been praying, especially since school is out, that my teenagers would come to love each other and embrace sisterhood Right now this is not reality but they are growing closer to God. Which is more than a start. God goes before us in battle and I know He is the Giver of good gifts. My God gave me a jewel yesterday. I use the word jewel to reference a Bible passage, that even though my eyes may have read it before, the treasure or power of the Word when the Holy Spirit reveals it to me in new Light. That happened last night. I take a class on Monday night, during our discussion this is what I learned.
The scriptures are in John 21, this is the third time since the Resurrection that Jesus has appeared to the disciples. Jesus made them breakfast and then pulls Peter to the side and asks not just once but THREE times, Peter do you love me more than these? and do you know the response? "You know everything Lord, you know my heart, YOU KNOW I LOVE YOU! Ok, then FOLLOW ME says Jesus. Then they look behind them and see "the disciple that Jesus loved(John) and Peter says""What about him Lord?"" Jesus replied"If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you?" Jesus said FOLLOW ME!! What does that mean??!!?? It is a command from the Lord Jesus Christ to not bother yourself with what HE SHE OR THEY are doing but to FOLLOW JESUS. Focus on Jesus, spend time with Jesus. Well to be quite honest, I would like to apply that to everyday life and I plan to. And I encourage others to do the same. Don't worry that doesnt mean you dont have a scapegoat, Jesus already paid your price and reconciled you with the Most High God, you cannot out do that. Especially by worrying what about so*n*so, instead pray and pray in the Word of God. His words are omnipotent, mans words are just potent.
